Tamala May is a dynamic speaker, author, and passionate encourager. Her love for public speaking began in high school, but it is the depth of her life experiences that allows her to connect so authentically with audiences today. With an extensive career in healthcare—including hospice and oncology—Tamala May has witnessed firsthand the fragility and value of life. These experiences fuel her heartfelt messages about embracing each moment, living with intention, and refusing to waste the time we are given.

Tamala May speaks boldly about the importance of having difficult conversations before they become urgent, especially around death, dying, and end-of-life decisions. She believes that honest dialogue can bring clarity, comfort, and peace to a journey we all must eventually face.

A Message Born from Real Experience

As a single mother who has navigated her own challenging seasons, Tamala May  founded Single Parents Pursuing Christ, a ministry devoted to to uplifting and equipping single parents. She knows intimately the struggles they face and is committed to changing the trajectory for children growing up in single-parent homes by offering support, hope, and practical guidance.

Known for her infectious sense of humor and captivating personality, Tamala May engages audiences from the moment she begins speaking. She is a devoted student of the Word and loves sharing inspiring messages about overcoming life’s hardest moments, pursuing hope, and passionately seeking the Lord.


Tamala May is also a Nurse Practitioner.

Beyond the Stage

Tamala May is the founder of Pursuing Christ Ministries, an organization dedicated to helping others deepen their relationship with God. She continues to serve as a Nurse Practitioner, is the proud mother of three adult children and their spouses, and most treasures her role as a grandmother. She is also the author of three books designed to help believers grow in their walk with the Lord.

A Life Rooted in Purpose

When she isn’t speaking, writing, or caring for patients, Tamala May enjoys time with her three adult children, their spouses, and her cherished grandson — the legacy that continues to inspire her work.
